NATURE IN MAREMMA

Vacanzemaremma campings, hotels and villages are surrounded by nature, in the coastline between Albinia and Talamone, in the very heart of Tuscan Maremma. Our guests will smell the perfumes of holm oaks, strawberry trees, brooms and pine trees. In our gardens and flowerbeds you will find wild rosemary, sage and helichrysum.

Maremma has a lot to offer in every season, during springtime the warm temperature invites you to have long walks on the beach under the sun in April or May. In low-season the streets have no traffic, restaurants are always open to enjoy the special recipes of the area or taste some cold cuts with a glass of local red wine. Flowers on fruit trees and the green of plants on coastal dunes create peculiar panoramas for trekking lovers and for people who like strolling in nature. You could also choose to take part in some guided tours among the paths of the Maremma Natural Park or on Monte Argentario.

You have already seen the colours and vegetation of the Maremma Natural Park in famous movie scenes such as Nothing Left to do but Cry, with Roberto Benigni and Massimo Troisi (1984) who reach the sea, after a series of adventures, to stop Christopher Columbus who is leaving for the Americas. The beach should be Palos, in Spain, but it really is the amazing Cala di Forno. The set was so loved by Benigni who decided to film here some scenes of his version of Pinocchio in 2002.

Summer is entertainment, parties, fun, chatting on the beach while children play on the seashore, shopping at sunset in the lively towns of the area, drinking your cocktail with friends in the evening, dancing on the beach during parties or attending cultural events at night. In the shade of our pine forest you will never feel too hot, neither in August, because the mistral sea breeze refreshes even the hottest days. During this season we suggest you to discover the beautiful beaches of our land by boat or on foot, such as the bays of Monte Argentario. Another idea is to take part in a wine tour in the surroundings, in fact there are many wineries which organise tours with wine tasting accompanied with Maremma local products.

Who decides to visit Maremma in autumn will enjoy walking in crystal clear warm water or diving for the last days of the beach season. Food lovers in this period could taste local wine, porcini mushrooms and Monte Amiata chestnuts, games from the countryside. The colours of autumn will lead you to the medieval hilltowns of the area or along the roads of the countryside.
